I've heard of Maria's a million times. But I also believe that you should never meet your heros. But I finally decided to give it try, and I'm glad I did. All the hype that my friends give Maria's is justified. Their food is VERY good, far superior to other "Nebraska-Mex" restaurants. It's a very specific style of food, and Maria's nailed every aspect of it. The puffy taco is the best I've ever had. And they have a type of gravy they put on burritos, it's something totally different and absolutely delicious. The service was also very fast and friendly. We went on a Friday night, and the place was completely packed. For that size of crowd, we weren't impressed with their washrooms. And it's a very loud environment. But everything else was absolutely awesome. Maria's is a must try if you live in Nebraska. I'd say it's one of the things that makes this city unique and special.

Maria’s is one of Omaha’s favorite places to get tacos and a must go to for taco Tuesday. Their taco Tuesday special is 2 tacos for 5.99 which may not sound like much, but the puffy tacos here are very filling. If you like margaritas, their house margarita is amazing and is better than a lot of premium margaritas I’ve had at other restaurants. Our taco waitress recommended the skinny marg for next time since it has real lime juice in it and also tastes great. I really enjoyed the pico and will be ordering that again on my next visit.

Got some takeout on a Friday night and the place was PACKED! Still got my food super quick and the service was friendly.
Tacos are more of the fried puffy shell style. Definitely not a street Taco style but tasty! The burrito was... interesting. Never seen a burrito smothered in straight up gravy before. Queso wasn't as good as some in the area, but it's still queso.
Not a bad choice for quick decent food!

I almost forgot about how good this place is! Gravy on burritos, it sounds crazy but they are AMAZING. And you have to try the fried flour shell tacos, they are huge but filled with just enough to still make it easy to eat and not falling apart. Their rice is my absolute favorite, plain but perfectly cooked and great mixed with the burrito! Great atmosphere, they always seem pretty busy. Our server was very friendly and prompt. I don't think they are open on Sunday or Monday though which is kind of a bummer. Forewarning, they have a tiny parking lot, but it's worth the wait!

If you’re in the area you MUST check out this Mexican restaurant! It is only open for dinner and boy are they getting great business! If you want to go, I would recommend dining before the dinner rush. I sat on the patio which was covered and enjoyed the raspberry margarita, queso, chips, salsa, and an enchilada! They make their own flower tortilla chips which I’ve never had before and boy are they addicting! The waitress was amazing! She frequently checked on our table, made sure we had water, drinks, and time to order! She was very hard working and constantly checked on her outdoor tables! Huge fan! I hope I get the opportunity to visit again!
